Lessons in Love
Today I asked Carter to clean the toys out of the bathtub. Not a hard task. However, he did not want to do it and was anything but happy about it. So, we had a little chat about "who might he be helping by cleaning out the tub?" His family. I reminded him that we serve each other because we love each other. We're a family and we work together as a team. Then I asked him if he knew that He was serving God too by serving his family. He said, "I've never heard that before." (one of the awesome privileges of being a mom is that you get to be one of the first to introduce your kids to God and His grace!) How I pray that someday each of my kids will come to know Christ personally. Yesterday we were talking and I told him that Jesus had to die because of our sins. He said, "That was really nice that He did that!" So sweet! I long for the day that he applies that truth personally!

that is really sweet :) it is awesome when kids start learning and realizing truths about God - the questions sky brings up are just amazing.
sometimes i feel a little overwhelmed with the spiritual responsibility that we parents have to lead them on the right path...i need to remember that our job is to pray/tell them/be an example, and God will do the rest :)
lately sharkey is on this kick where everyone he talks to he tells them that 'God made you!' it's cute :)
Yes, it is really fun to hear them talk about God and ask questions. :)
That's adorable about Sharkey! :) He's a cutie pie!
I hope your day is going well. Hope you saw my post on your page. You're doing great! :)
