It's Ready! The 2013 Christmas Gift Guide

It's hard to believe that Christmas is only a little over 2 1/2 months away. I don't know about you, but I like to get started on my Christmas shopping around this time of year so that I can spread out the financial impact that Christmas has on our budget and so that I can have a good portion of my shopping done before December 1 even rolls around. I try very hard to keep the month of December focused on what is truly important about Christmas--celebrating the birth of my Savior.

I've put together a Christmas Gift Guide comprised of businesses that offer quality products and are companies that I would purchase from or have purchased from.
Where Do I Start?

The shops are listed in alphabetical order and to help you know where to start, I have a brief description of what they sell, some of my favorite items (with links to those items), coupon codes (if applicable), price range of their products and shipping information.  This guide will be available for you from now until January 17 and will be posted at the top of my blog for easy access.

Or, over the next few months, you can simply click on my Christmas Gift Guide button under the "Start Shopping Here" section on my sidebar. That way you can reference the Gift Guide as much as needed and also know that you are helping to support small businesses that will be much more thankful for your purchase than the big chain stores out there. (Not that I don't love a good Kohls deal now and then!)
Don't Forget the Fun on Facebook!
To give you periodic reminders that Christmas is coming, I'll be sharing fun little Facebook updates about each sponsor with a link to their site. You won't want to miss these, so go to my Purposeful Homemaking Facebook Page and make sure you have not only "liked" my page, but also that you've selected "Get Notifications" and "Show in News Feed".
So,whether you're an early shopper or the kind that likes to wait, I have a super awesome gift guide that I have been working very hard on to help make your shopping experience much easier! And while I have selected a few of my favorite things from each shop, those items only scratch the surface of all the great finds from each sponsor. I think you're going to love these great companies that I am privileged to team up with. So let's get started!

Better Way Imports is a direct sales company that sells products made by women who were enslaved in human trafficking. By allowing them to make products for Better Way Imports they now have financial stability. Better Way Imports carries bags, jewelry, accessories, apparel, paper goods and more and each purchase goes to helping support women who have been freed from slavery.

What I like:  I love the stylish and uniquely made bags such as the Liberty Bloom bag. There are several pieces of jewelry that I really like but one of my favorites is the Bhutan Necklace. Be sure to check out the unique and stylish recycled rice bag purses too.

Price Range: $3.50-$99.00

Shipping: US and Canada

Promotions: Better Way Imports offers FREE shipping on all retail orders over $100 and has monthly specials.

Cheeky Bums Market is the cutest little vintage style children's shop. I love the one-of-a-kind styles (literally!) for the some of the clothes. Because some are handmade and upcycled there may only be one available so you have to get it while you can! Cheeky Bums Market also carries cloth diapers and accessories, clothes and toys.

What I Like: A lot actually, but let me narrow it down to my top three faves. For starters, I like this one of a kind blue and cream striped skirt made from a vintage tea towel and an authentic antique hand-embroidered hankie pocket. Seriously, what a creative idea! Something else that caught my eye for our little guy is the Brown Organic Elephant Onesie. I like it's color scheme and unique style, and the fact that it's organic. And last, but not least, I have to say the Rosette Hair Clips are adorable and that I would definitely use them in our daughter's hair.

Price Range: $5-$60

Promotions: Cheeky Bums Market is offering $1 shipping on all orders right now (no code necessary)

Jenuinely Pure is a mom owned company based in the USA. It was started by Jenny, a Mom who wanted to provide her family and others with handmade, natural and organic skin and home care products at a reasonable price.

What I Like: Since we have a baby in the house I'm drawn to the Baby Wash. It's Lavender scented and free of harsh chemicals. This would be great to pop into your favorite baby's stocking. Jenny has an excellent selection of gift sets that would be wonderful for anyone on your list to receive and they would make your gift giving even easier. If you're looking for a gift for someone for their home then the Home Gift Set would be perfect and even comes in a large metal tub that would be great for decorating with.

Just So is a family business that came into being as the result of life style changes from a family after their encounter with toxic mold.  Their company offers tutorials, recipes and products to help equip you live a more natural lifestyle. They carry all natural soaps, supplies, herbal sachets, lip balm and creams.

What I Like: The Just So Sampler makes an ideal gift for those who are chemically sensitive, or who are interested in natural living.  It includes 3 of their natural Soap samples, 1 Healing Blend Lip balm, and a sample of their Shea Crème, all packaged in reusable glass jars. For $20, the sampler also includes Free Shipping. I would also love to get the Song of Solomon for Men bar soap for my husband because he is the only one in our family who has not yet made the switch to natural bath care products. Since we're almost all dairy free in our household, I would love to get the water kefir grains so that we could start drinking probiotic drinks again without the dairy. My husband used to make smoothies from his milk kefir all the time so it would be good to get us back on these again.

Lilla Rose is a resource for unique, comfortable and beautiful hair jewelry. They are most commonly known for their Flexi Hair Clip, but they also offer Hair Sticks, the Flexi Oh!, Hairbands, and fashionable Bobby Pins.

What I Like: As I looked at what was available online, my eye definitely caught the beautiful Autumn Sticks. I know our little girl would love the Open Flower Bobby Pins and I have no doubt that the Contemporary Flower from the Mini Flexi-clip line would also look stunning her auburn hair.

Price Range: $9-$30

Mary & Martha is a direct sales company that offers beautiful Home Décor, Serving Items, and Gifts with Faith-based themes. Their products are beautifully made and come with a message of hope and peace.
What I Like: There are so many products from this company that I love but I will narrow it down to three! I personally own the Grace and Gratitude pie plate and it is a definitely a favorite of mine with it's beautiful blue color and words that remind me to give thanks. I would love to pair it in my home someday with the matching Grace and Gratitude Casserole Dish. If you're looking for stocking stuffers, gifts for co-workers or teachers then some Honduran Coffee would be an excellent choice. My husband and I both really like this coffee and it comes in regular for him and decaf for me. :) It has such excellent flavor I drink mine happily without cream. My husband commented on the quality of it as well. PLUS, something that is good to know is that missionaries from the US have come alongside these Honduran coffee farmers to help with their farming and business practices. This has resulted in a 500% increase in their harvest which has allowed them to build homes, fund youth programs and more.

Nick's Sticks is a grass roots business that makes the best beef sticks ever. Seriously, when I got these for my family last Christmas, the kids were squealing with delight (they had had them before). We steer clear of conventional beef sticks but these ones I don't feel bad about our family eating. These beef sticks are made from 100% grass-fed beef (or you can get free-range turkey) and are seasoned with Redmon organic salt. Our kids love them so much that guess what they're asking for in their stockings again this year? Yep, Nick's Sticks!

Snug Organics is a fantastic family-run business from Denver, Colorado offering cozy, organic pajamas for children. Their Alpaca line is hypoallergenic and is naturally flame resistantSnug Organics has expanded their line over the past year and I absolutely love their new colors and styles! We personally have a pair of these pajamas and my daughter loves them. My favorite selections are the Organic Cotton Sherpa Sleeper (which we have) but I absolutely love their new colors! I'd love to try their new super cute print Long Johns which are also organic and free of flame retardants. And since our house is on a slab and tends to get pretty chilly in the cold, winter months I think the non-itchy, organic wool overalls are a fantastic idea!

Usborne Books has long been one of my favorite book distributors and if you take a look at our children's bookshelves and homeschool curriculum, you will see what I mean. Usborne Books carries books for babies, children and teens and offers a wide variety of topics.

What I Like: A personal favorite of ours is the Little Children's Christmas Music Book. Even our older children, ages 6 and 8, like this book. For our babies and toddlers we have several books from the "That's Not My..." series and they have always been favorites as well. I like that Usborne Books has numerous topical books for boys like the Fighter Planes since they are sometimes harder to find good books for.

FYI - I don't think you can shop on line for Mary & Martha unless you are on a consultant's web page. I tried your link and it said "shopping not available" said...

Hmmm...I checked the links and they all worked. Which one was it? Thanks!!!
