Showering Your Children with Love When They Aren't Feeling Well

This sweet girl with her headache and fever is incredibly precious to me. As I stroked her cheek this afternoon, she reached up tenderly and held my face in her hand and said, "Mom, I am so glad you are my Mom."

Oh, Baby Girl, you have no idea how glad I am to be your mom.

You are the light in my days, the joy of my heart, the sunshine of my soul. Your auburn hair reminds me of a summer sunset and your smile with its new toothless gap brightens my life more than I ever could have imagined.

Your tenderness to the Lord binds my heart to you in a greater depth than I realized.

You have no idea, Sweet Love, how often I thank the Lord for blessing me with YOU.

So, precious girl, although you are not your chipper self, my medicine to you is showering you with my love.

It's giving you a foot bath with Epsom salts to ease your weariness.

It's giving you what is best to help your body fight off illness.

It's bringing peace to your bedroom with some relaxing music as you lay in bed with the same quilt that was mine when I still lived with my Momma.

It's bringing you dinner in bed so you can rest while you eat. And it's me sitting with you on your bed eating my dinner so you don't eat alone.

I can't imagine any greater joy than being Momma to you and your three wonderful brothers.

My cup overflows.
