Fun Learning!

Now that we're done with our regular curriculum, I love that it frees up time for other things...like going to the zoo with the cousins, seeing Aunt Annie's butterflies in her classroom and watching sheep get their summer hair cut (a.k.a sheep shearing!) :) Lot's of fun learning going on around here!

Zoo:

Butterfly Tent:

Sheep Shearing:

In case you're interested, that's the wool from one sheep and the goal is to get it all off in one piece. This woman is a professional and has been doing it for 25 years. Apparently her son and his team just beat the sheep shearing record for the US and sheared 400 sheep in 6 hours and 24 minutes (I think I have that right.) Anyways, the wool from one sheep can make about 2 sweaters and a pair of socks. :)

What are some fun things you're doing with your kids?

Wish we could have made it tonight! Looks like fun - the kids would have liked it. Ethan's loving the butterflied in class too. I'll have to go in and get pictures of the kids in the tent like you did. ....We're eating lots of ice cream to celebrate the spring weather....is there any learning in that?? :)
