When our Foundation is on Christ, Our Labor is not in Vain

I hope your week went well! As we are (hopefully!) enjoying our weekend and preparing for the week ahead, I thought I'd share a passage with you that reminds me of Who my foundation needs to be on. Although this passage refers to children being our heritage, let us not forget that we've all been called to build a home--whether we have children or not. God has called each of His children to have a ministry with others and that foundation needs to be on Christ as well.
May we all turn to the Lord for grace and help as we labor on behalf of those God has placed in our care.

Psalm 127
Unless the LORD builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves.
Children are a heritage from the LORD,
offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their opponents in court.

I think it would be great if after reading this post we all took a minute to pray for the families of the Purposeful Homemaking readers. Feel free to leave a comment letting us know you did. It would be such an encouragment to us! Thanks!
