For "Circle Time" each morning during Homeschool I like to go over things with the kids like the date, days of the week, praying for our sponsor child, singing a fun song or two and graphing the weather. I found this flannel graph set on Etsy called, "What's the Weather". It will be a fun, fun way to do our weather this year!
Each set (only $10!) comes with a title for the weather that day (e.g. cloudy, windy, rainy, etc.) as well as pictures to resemble what that type of weather "looks" like. Each flannel graph piece is made from felt and embellished with glitter paint and wiggly eyes.
I like the idea of using this set because it provides sensory involvement for the child and makes learning fun.
I'm looking forward to using the "What's the Weather" each morning for school and using the "Ice Cream Counting" with my preschooler. I plan to put the "Ice Cream Counting" in our preschool/toddler basket. I'm counting on these types of things helping out since my youngest is not taking a morning nap this school year. I'm going to need something to keep him busy while I work with my oldest!!
When we got the "What's the Weather" and the "Ice Cream Counting" sets in the mail, my daughter played with them for 45 minutes straight and then played with them again the next morning...I think she liked them!
You can also order a travel (or space efficient!) flannel board. The flannel is backed with cute material and is secured by ribbon. What a great idea!
Below is a picture of the Ice Cream Counting Set we tried. I like it because it involves math and matching the corresponding number to the correct number of sprinkles. Plus, I think they're cute. :)
Here's a little background on Teachable Moment Felt Board Stories. Taren began making these while for her class while she was a Head Start Teacher. Soon other teachers were asking for them. She has been making them for over 10 years and has over 150 different flannel board stories and songs!
Taren is graciously offering a blessed reader a flannel board AND 2 stories! She will choose the board but YOU can pick any two stories you want!
To enter (and remember to leave separate comments):

**Disclosure: I was given the What's the Weather and Ice Cream counting sets in exchange for a candid review. I REALLY do like them! Is that candid enough? :)
