Upa-lala Review

What is Upa-lala?

Upa-lala (pronounced oopa-lala) is a company that specializes in making unique and stylish handmade baby carriers as well as waterproof bags and snack bags (otherwise known as eco-bags). Eco-bags replace the use of plastic bags as they are reusable and can be machine washed and dried.

"They are handmade from high-quality designer fabrics with a separate layer of water-resistant material on the inside."

Upa-lala got it's name because Brittan's husband is originally from Argentina and little children there communicate by saying "upa" when they want to be picked up. The adult responds by saying "upa-lala" as she picks them up. Brittan thought the name upa-lala seemed appropriate for their company because their baby carriers allow you to pick up and safely carry your precious cargo.

What I Thought

I was contacted by Brittan the creator behind upa-lala  several months ago to see if I would like to review one her medium sized eco-bags.

Generally, eco-bags are used for cloth diapers while you're out and about, but I figured I would use mine as a bag for our swim gear because I always resorted to using plastic bags prior to this. After agreeing to review one, I soon received the cutest little package in the mail with our eco-bag in it.

I then used our eco-bag nearly every day for 5 weeks straight while our two younger children participated in their Infant Swimming Resource lessons. I can tell you it has gotten a LOT of use. Not to mention, now we're using it every time we head to my in-laws' pool!

Here is a picture of the bag that I got to review. This bag is awesome and I LOVE it!

I think it is great because it is waterproof, zips closed so nothing falls out and even has a snap strap that will allow me to clip it to the side of my beach bag if I need to.

And on top of that it is WAY cuter than the plastic bags and is, of course, more eco-friendly as well. Click here for additional information about how the bags are made.

If I were to get another bag, I would choose the large size just to have a little more room. Honestly though, I've crammed at least 2 pairs of water shoes and 4 swimsuits at a time in my medium bag so it still gets the job done.

I've also washed and dried this numerous times and it is still holding up well. If I don't feel that I need to wash it, I just pull the inner waterproof part out and let it dry.

The bags are also available in a draw-string style if you prefer that. The medium bag retails for $25.00 and the large for $35.00
