Beeyoutiful Skin Mineral Makeup

Beeyoutiful is a company that I have reviewed for in the past, but today I'd like to introduce you to their Mineral Makeup line that is made of 100% Pure Minerals, is All Natural and Gluten Free. As part of this review, I reviewed 1 Mineral Foundation, 1 Foundation brush, 1 Eye and/or Lip Color, 1 Combo brush and 1 DVD.

It's becoming more and more obvious that pretty much everything we use would be better for us if it were natural and/or organic since everything else seems to be chemically laden these days.

Unfortunately, purchasing only organic or all natural products is not a reality for us, but safe skin care should be a priority for me. Our skin is our largest organ and although God has put other organs into place to help remove toxins, it sure would be nice if I could lighten the toxicity load don't you think?

Thankfully with Beeyoutiful Skin Mineral Makeup you can lighten the load because the ingredients are so much safer for you.

Eye and/or Lip Color

Eye and/or Lip colors retail for $10 each for .57 grams and the eye and lip colors are actually interchangeable. When choosing your eye color, you can choose several viewing options, including one next to a skin tone in order to help you make your decision. You can also order samples if you aren't quite sure about the perfect color for you. I had a hard time choosing a color online so this is a great option.

These colors may be applied either wet or dry depending on what kind of a look you would like. When applied dry, it has a more subtle, natural look and if it is wet it has a slightly bolder, yet still appealing look.

Foundations

The Foundations retail for $25 for 3.85 grams and contain Mica, iron oxides and titanium dioxide. (Some may include additional ingredients, but this is basically what is in them.)

I had a difficult time getting this foundation to look natural on me when applied dry although the DVD does suggest spritzing the foundation brush lightly with a toner and that did seem to help. (The DVD I received was very helpful with application tips.)

The other foundation option is to mix the mineral powders with a facial moisturizer for a slightly heavier foundation and this actually worked very well for me. My only drawback is that is adds one more step to my makeup routine when I'm already usually rushed to get it done.

Brushes

All of the Beeyoutiful Brushes are hand made in the USA. These synthetic brushes are hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin and are designed to work with both creams and powders (which is why you can apply your mineral foundation as is or add a little moisturizer to it).

The Foundation Brush retails for $11.00 and is the most luxurious feeling brush I have ever used. It reminded me of satin the first time I used it. At three inches tall it is very compact and does not take up a lot of space in my make up bag. It is nice and full so coverage can be achieved quickly. I love using mine for my powder topcoat once my foundation and blush have been applied. I have never used a brush quite like this one and it has far surpassed any that I have used.

The other brush I used was the Combo Brush which retails for $6.50. One side has a thin row of same-length bristles for applying lip color or even eye liner and the other side is slightly rounded for eye color application or for lip color as well.

Overall Assessment

My overall assessment of the Beeyoutiful Makeup routine is that it will slightly more time-consuming than my current one, however, I also know that it is healthier for me. Doing this review prompted me to check out my current make up on EWG's Skin Deep sight and I wasn't too happy with what I found. I know I ought to seriously consider making a switch to a healthier alternative for my makeup.

I loved how you mentioned our skin being the largest organ. So true, and using healthy products on it is so important. Great job!
