Sweetbottoms Baby Boutique Review and Giveaway

My first sponsor for the Merry Fluffy Christmas Event is Sweetbottoms Baby Boutique. I reviewed the Ecoposh Wool Diaper Cover to go over our Ecoposh Recycled Organic One Size Fitted Diaper.

Contrary to what you might think about a wool cover, it is actually soft and stretchy. I must admit, I was a little skeptical as to how just plain wool would work as a diaper cover even though I'd read about the benefits of wool.

Turns out, it truly is waterproof and durable!  Wool is a wonderful natural option for a cover because it is antibacterial, antimicrobial, highly breathable and extremely absorbent. Incredibly, because "wool can absorb 30% of its weight in liquid" source it does not feel wet on the outside either. Amazing!  

And due to the fact that wool does not retain odor, it does not need to be washed after each use as long as it hasn't been soiled by something other than urine. Washing it about once a week is sufficient. When you do wash it, be sure to do it by hand using a baby shampoo or a no rinse delicate wash such as Eucalan or Lanolin Wool Soap.

The only drawback to this diaper cover and fitted diaper is that it is extremely bulky when combined with the 6r soaker. (The 6r soaker and one fit diaper are sold separately.) Because of that, it's too bulky to be worn with pants so when our son uses it for naptime or bedtime I put him in a pair of pajamas since they have a lot more give.

I wouldn't say this is my favorite cover due to it's bulkiness. However, I do like the unique benefits of wool so I'm happy to have this as part of our small cloth diaper collection and will continue to use it for naptime and bedtime.
