Happy Birthday to My Hero! {My Husband}

This picture was a week before I was due with our last baby...I feel like I look it. :)

Heroes aren't always easy to spot you know. They don't usually wear a cape or have muscles busting our of their suit (sorry, Babe). Sometimes you have to look a little closer and realize that heroes might just look like an ordinary guy. In fact, I know just such a one...my husband.

Today is his birthday and I thought it would be a good time to let him know just how much I appreciate him and all that he does for our family. It's easy when all these babies start coming along to not invest quite so much in the amazing man that I married.  But God keeps reminding me not to neglect pouring into the relationship with my husband. And the best thing I can do for all those babies is to love their Daddy!

I always jokingly tell him that he's my hero because whenever I'm frustrated (happens quite easily I might ad) or can't fix something (also happens quite frequently), he comes to my rescue. It's one of the reasons I married him because I knew I just couldn't live without him.

In fact, one of the best things about my husband is his heart of service. Not only to me, but to just about everyone around him. He's more of the quiet, behind-the-scenes kind of guy. But because of that, he pays attention to what people need and if he's able to, he helps them out.

So, unbeknownst to him, I've been snapping a few pictures of him over the last several weeks...catching him in acts of service that truly make him my hero.

Snapshot #1

This picture represents all of the help he is with our babies. If I need help in the middle of the night, he's there. He changes diapers, burbs them, loves on them and just overall is a terrific daddy.

Snapshot #2

This picture shows how he helps save our family money by doing all of our car repairs. They're not always easy and I can guarantee they're no "five minute job" like he tells me they're gonna be, but he saves us a bundle by doing the work himself.

Snapshot #3

I had to include this picture because I just love it. Again, it shows that he enjoys being with his children.

Snapshot #4

This picture shows how he came to my rescue when I had all of these Hello Kitty cupcake toppers to punch out...and he did them for me. (Plus, the ones for our son's birthday in a couple of weeks!)

Snapshot #5

I loved this moment and quickly ran for the camera to capture it. As you can tell, he's a bit dressed up in the picture. That's because he had just gotten home from work when our son immediately let Daddy know that his bike wasn't working right. So without a complaint he quickly fixed our son's bike for him.

These pictures are just a glimpse of all the ways he is our hero. He sacrifices in countless ways so that our family can have what we need and a lot of times, that means he goes without.  I'm so glad I married a kind, thoughtful, sacrificial, compassionate man. Thanks for being our family's hero. We love you and Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday to Adam. It's so nice to hear married people praising the person they are married to instead of cutting them down. I was really hoping you had snapped a picture of Adam picking tons of blueberries or strawberries or canning tomatoes.
