One of my favorite companies to work with is Sweetbottoms Baby Boutique. I have always been happy with the products from their boutique (one of my favorite products from them is the Gypsy Mama Water Wrap--love it and I can't wait to use it again this summer with our newest blessing!)
I chose the Bum Genius diaper in Ribbit (that's the color my baby is wearing in the above picture) mostly because this style diaper has a good track record with me. It is designed for children that weigh anywhere between 7-35 lbs so I am able to use this diaper on both my newborn and occasionally on my older child for naps. I went with the Aplix style (Velcro) because it's easier to use on little babies. (Well, not that mine is little per say since he's over 18 lbs and just turned 4 mths old, but let's just say younger babies!)
I also chose this diaper because of it's versatility. As you can see in the picture below, there are adjustable snaps that allow me to use the diaper for either of our children.
If you'll notice, there is also a material "tab" that goes across the top of the insert. This is to help prevent your baby's belly from getting wet. (Although it's still happens sometimes, especially with boys!)
Bum Genius was actually the very first cloth diaper I used on our children and I have to say, they have withstood the test of time! Bum Genius diapers are very well made and the ones we have are several years old now and while they are showing some wear, they are still holding up well--even the Velcro!
If you're looking for a cloth diaper to use, I know Bum Genius is a safe place to put your money. Well, not literally even though it has that handy dandy little pocket. I bet a thief would never think to look there! :) But what I do mean is that this diaper is tried and true!
