"Kick a Cold" Tea

My youngest and I have been battling a nasty cold for the past week and to help keep it from settling into my lungs or turning into a sinus infection like colds normally do for me, I've been drinking my "Kick a Cold" tea daily (and sometimes more than once a day).

It's pretty simple, really, but the ingredients pack a powerful punch. If I feel the congestion starting to mount or the tickle in my throat coming back, I try to make another cup of this tea and it is definitely helping to manage my symptoms.

Kick a Cold Tea
1-2 drops of Lemon Essential Oil (or 2 tsp. lemon juice)
2 Tablespoons of honey
1 T Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tea bag (green tea is a great option!)
dash of cinnamon
Simply boil your water, add your tea bag, ingredients and stir. Make as often as necessary. *One note: If you choose to use lemon essential oil, be sure to avoid direct sunlight for 12 hours.

The other thing that helps tremendously when coming down with something is Echinacea and Thyme from Trilight Health. It's amazing!

**update 10/12/16 To help prevent illness and disease, we started taking Juice Plus+ about one year ago and it has made a huge difference in how often we get sick and to what degree. What is Juice Plus+? It's "whole food based nutrition, including juice powder concentrates from 30 different fruits, vegetables and grains. Juice Plus+ helps bridge the gap between what you should eat and what you do eat every day. Not a multivitamin, medicine, treatment or cure for any disease, Juice Plus+ is made from quality ingredients carefully monitored from farm to capsule to provide natural nutrients your body needs to be at its best." It doesn't have any added ingredients other than real food. I'm so thankful for it!! Check out this video for more general information and this video tells you how Juice Plus+ is made. If you have any questions, you can contact me here.

Hi Katie,
Sorry about that! I just do a dash of cinnamon. :)You can also add a pinch of cayenne for extra help clearing out sinuses. :)
