How to Save Money by Making Your Own Baby Food

Here are a few tips for you...if you need more details on cooking it, etc. here's a great book, Cooking for Baby by Lisa Barnes. Making your own baby food will save you tons of money, but another huge motivating factor for me is that I know exactly what is in my baby's food (especially because he has had problems with milk protein since he was 7 wks old). Same story, 2nd verse...my daughter had it too but grew out of it around 1 1/2 years old. More info on that if anyone's interested...Anyways, I puree the baby food and then put it in ice cube trays (w/o spraying anything in the tray. I think I've read before to spray non-stick spray in there, but it's not necessary and I don't want that in my baby's food anyways). I LOVE the little size ice cube trays that you can make (smaller than the traditional size) because when you're first introducing solids they're not going to eat a whole ice cube size worth of food anyways. Have fun cooking for your baby! I love it!!!!
