Time 4 Learning Review

Photobucket

Time 4 Learning is an on-line learning program designed for preschool, elementary and middle school students and is intended to be used as a homeschool curriculum, after school learning program, or for summer use.

This was our family's second time to review Time 4 Learning and I actually thought we got more out of the program this time around. My two older children (ages 6 and 4) have really enjoyed this program. I know they'll be sad when our free trial runs out!

One of the great things about Time 4 Learning is that it is a very thorough program. You can check your child's progress on assignments and even generate reports of your child's completed work!

There are many helpful parental aspects to this program. One being the parent forum which includes individual state forums. These forums allow you to get in touch with other Time 4 Learningparents in your area. It also allows you to ask questions concerning your particular state's homeschool laws.

Overall, I think Time 4 Learning is a great program that will continue to challenge your child academically.

This little girl LOVES Time 4 Learning!! She uses it daily. :)

If I were to offer some suggestions as to how to improve the program I would suggest updating the voices and characters in the program. Obviously, this doesn't affect the material that is being covered, but I do believe it would make the presentation of the material more enjoyable. Even though I would find this to be a desirable improvement, I did not find that the current characters negatively affected my children's desire to use the program.

Another suggestion would be to make signing in between different children an easier transition. (Perhaps click on a child's icon rather than having to type each name and password individually for each child.)

At $19.95/month for your first child and $14.95/month for each additional child, I do think the program is definitely an academic investment. However, I do know that I always hear great reviews about this program. And as a member you get access to:
  • 1,000+ Student-Paced Animated Lessons
  • Math Exercises and Printable Worksheets
  • Language Arts from Phonics through Reading
  • Science and Social Studies In Most Grade Levels
  • Automated Reporting for Easy Record Keeping
  • Detailed Lesson Plans for Parents
  • Lessons Correlated to State Standards (taken from here)
I know there are several on-line learning programs out there and it can be hard to choose which one is right for your child.  Personally, I think this program would be a good fit for children grades K4-6th although it is recommend for preschool through middle school. If you're interested in checking out Time 4 Learning, you can try demo lessons or even sign up here. And if you have any questions, feel free to contact them here.

If you'd like to see what other bloggers are saying about this program, feel free to swing by The Homeschool Crew's page.

Thanks for taking the time to read my opinion about this on-line learning program. As I mentioned, I believe it is very thorough and I know for a fact my children have really enjoyed it!!

Disclaimer: I was given a month one trial of this program in exchange for a candid review.

I have been reading your reviews of both Time4Learning and ABCMouse. They seem like they are much the same. You seem to prefer the login system of ABCMouse but you mention that Time4Learning is very thorough.

Also, Time4Learning goes up through 8th grade whereas ABCMouse doesn't. Any other contrasts?

I suppose it depends on the age of your child. If it's a younger one (say 5 and under), I prefer abcmouse.com. Hope that helps!
