Elmo Birthday Party for Sweet Caleb! {Plus a Giveaway!}

We just celebrated our son's 3rd Birthday with an Elmo Party from Tiny Printables. Since our son has been very enthralled with Elmo these days and I found some Elmo party items at a garage sale this summer, it seemed fitting for it to be our party theme.

I chose to work with Tiny Printables because I love the adorable Elmo Party Package she has made. It was definitely my favorite of all the ones I checked out.

Tiny Printables is a little bit different from the party packages I have featured before in that it is a DIY site. Once you have selected your party package, Stephanie sends you the files and you customize them to suit your party needs. This option involves a little more work on your end but it does save you money doing it this way.

All in all, it was a fairly easy process and once we edited the files we saved them to a stick drive and I printed them off at a local print shop. (If you take your own cardstock it will save you $).

Here's a peak at some of the printables I used. I think this invitation is so fun and absolutely perfect for a 3 year old. Bright and cheery just like our little guy! (Obviously the original invite contained personal information so the one that Stephanie made was better than this!)

To get the invitations to everyone it's easiest for me to save our invitation as a picture and then either email it to everyone or upload it as a picture in our Facebook event section where I can invite friends and family. I love how this invitation turned out.

Doing a party with a package like this is fairly low-cost and definitely low-stress. My kind of party. :) Here are some pictures of things I printed and cut out for the party.

Cupcake Wrappers and Toppers

My favorite thing to do these days is to use cupcake toppers rand wrappers rather than making cakes like I have in the past. It is a lot less stressful to do these than it is to make decorative cakes. Plus, I think they are so adorable, especially with the cupcake wrappers on. Love them! They're even cuter if you can get a hold of a 2" round or scalloped paper punch, too. I need to add one of those to my wish list. :)

I thought it was fun adding the "Birthday Bash" and "Caleb's Street" mini-banners to our food table to help tie the theme in a bit more. The rectangular table labels featured in the center can  be used as food labels or as mini thank you cards. I used them for both.

This party package also includes triangular party banners and pillow shaped favor boxes.

He couldn't have been more excited about his "Melmo" party!

Caleb's party was in the morning so as I was trying to think of what to serve I decided I'd make my own version of an Elmo Pancake.  He loved them and I was happy to hear all the cousins excited to eat one as well.

My husband made the pancakes and we dyed them red from the canned raspberry juice we had. I then gave a squirt of whip cream and a dark chocolate morsel for the eyes, a half a marshmallow dyed orange and a half an Oreo cookie (no frosting) for the mouth. I thought they turned out pretty well!

Life is exceptionally busy right now so having something like Tiny Printables made the party turn out great even though I didn't have a lot of time to put into this party. (Thank you, Stephanie!!!) The party planning and the party itself were low stress, the weather was gorgeous (Thank you, Lord!) and everything turned out perfectly. Caleb and I were both happy campers as you can see from the above picture.

The party package we used retails for $19.95 and if you want extra printables like water bottle printables they are an additional $7.95.

I was very happy to have Stephanie from Tiny Printables join me in showcasing this party as well as offering three of my readers a chance to win one of their own party packages! Awesome, huh? The winners can have the pick of their choice from Stephanie's shop. Here are a few ideas to tempt you. :)

Oh my word, that is so adorable! And A-bug is IN LOVE with Elmo as well. We're already talking about doing an Elmo or Sesame Street in general party for next year. Love your pancake idea, too!
