Today's post is going to be short and well, short. Not sure I can call it sweet because Proverbs 21 has a few tough verses to swallow.
For example, if I am going to be contentious towards my husband, it would have been better for him to have remained single than to marry me.
Verse 19 doesn't leave it with just living alone though. It adds "in the desert." Hmmm...so what it's saying is, that if I am contentious, my husband would be better off in a barren, hot, parched land living in alone in a tent than he would be with me in a beautiful, comfortable, furnished home with running water.
I'm guessing most of us aren't contentious 24/7, but I bet we do have our moments.
When those moments come, try to remember that even if you feel like you'd like to send your husband off to be a tent dwelling nomad, you really don't want to make him feel like that would be a better life than one with you.
Remember, it's about progress and building our homes rather than tearing them down.
Join me tomorrow as we study Proverbs chapter 22. Just getting started on the series? Catch up with all the posts on my landing page between now and October 31.
