I'm so glad our children had a chance to review The Plans I Have For You devotional and journal. They have been using them faithfully ever since we got them in the mail and are great for their daily quiet time.
I wanted both of our older children to benefit from these so they both can read the devotional, but my daughter is using the journal. I would love to get another journal for my son though because the journal is fantastic at asking questions that help draw thoughts from your child's heart that maybe you weren't aware of or hadn't thought about asking.
I love that this journal is a blend of both doodling and writing. I think those features make it fun for the child but it also helps those children that aren't particularly inclined to one or the other of those to still be able to communicate depending on whatever their strength is.
Throughout the journal, the child is pointed to Christ through a particular Scripture and then questions are drawn from that verse to help them think through what they are learning.
I know the journal will be a precious keepsake someday to look back at how God was working in my child's life.
The devotional is a nice, bright hardcover book. It is a 90-day devotional written to inspire children to think about their future while focusing on faith, love and joy. It teaches them how to see that God has a plan and purpose for their precious life.
Neither of these books require the other but they are a great duo so I'd personally recommend both. The Plans I Have For You devotional and journal are available on Amazon (my favorite place to shop!). You can find the devotional here and the journal here.
