Fun Stuff for Summer 2011
Truly, our lives are but a vapor. I'm reminded of that when I look back on pictures from summers past and see how quickly my children are growing up! And, as we make plans for the coming summer, it reminds me of James 4:14-15 NLT which says, "How do you know what will happen tomorrow? For your life is like the morning fog--it's here a little while, then it's gone. What you ought to say is, "'If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.'" So, may I be faithful in submitting all of our plans to the Lord--no matter how big or small they may be!
Therefore, Lord-willing we will:
Have a Lego Birthday Party for Carter!
Go to the annual Memorial Day parade
Find great deals at Garage Sales :)
Play with water balloons
Have a snowball fight (I saved snow in the freezer from this winter. :) (here's a picture from last year.)
Go for walks
Play with squirt guns
Have a picnic Go to the park
Carter will play tball for the 1st time!
Have a "cowgirl" birthday party for Carlee
Go for a nature walk
Go for a bike ride
Go to "The Shack"
(Here is a picture of "The Shack". My husband's grandparents own a piece of land up north and it's a fairly rustic "retreat" for the family to go to each summer. Don't worry. No one sleeps in "The Shack" anymore--it's just used for storage now.) :)
Do our annual nursery rhyme treasure hunt with friends and cousins that ends in getting ice cream. :) Here's a link for the map I made. Here are the nursery rhyme clues that I used.
Go to the Splash Park
Go to Mackinac City with Grandma and Grandpa and FamilyRoast marshmallows
Blow bubbles
Play with sidewalk chalk
Go fishing with Grandpa Mc
Hopefully have at least a small Garden this year (we have great neighbors and they let us do a garden with them last year in their yard. It was so nice to have fresh vegetables!) Go strawberry, blueberry, cherry, raspberry, peach and apple picking
Blueberry Picking
Strawberry picking
This is a picture of my nephew. It is literally one of my favorite pictures!
Go to the zoo (SO excited to use our Christmas present--a zoo pass!! :)
Go to the Farmer's Market
Go metal detecting with Grandpa Mc
Swim at Mimi and Popz' pool
Uncle Brian with Caleb :)
Carlee with her friends at the pool
Go on the annual extended family vacation (a post is coming about this!)
Lord-willing it will be a fun, safe summer!

(Dana) We made a list last summer too - Some I remember were drinking lemonade and eating popsicles, looking at the stars with the telescope, going to the park, and going on vacation. It was fun for Ethan to cross off the stuff on our list as we did it! We're getting a zoo pass again, so we'll all have to go a few times this summer! And I can't wait to garden again! We'll have to compare notes from last year to do even better this year!
