Eco Vessel Review and Giveaway!

About Eco Vessel

Eco Vessel is based in Boulder, Colorado (Hip hip hooray for being made in the USA!) at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Their products are 100% recyclable, BPA Free and are made of high quality, non-leaching materials so you can rest assured about their safety.
Eco Vessel has so many great products to choose from! They carry everything from Filtered Water Bottles to Stainless Steel Snack Cups for the kids.

One of their products that I think would be great to use is Eco Vessel's Aqua Vessel Ultra Lite Tritan™ Filtration Bottle  because it has an amazing filtration system that would be great to use whether you're home or abroad. (Raise your hand if you have ever had ill-effects from drinking water in another country.) It is not pleasant and clean drinking water can sometimes be hard to come by when you are overseas. If you had this with you, getting clean drinking water wouldn't be nearly as hard to find!

Here's a little information about this neat Filtration Bottle:

The Aqua Vessel Ultra Lite Filtration Bottle uses a "sustainable plant-based filter [that] attaches easily to the straw top, so every sip you take is cleaned on its way to your mouth. It is tested to remove 99.9% of Giardia and Cryptosporidium, and its activated coconut shell carbon reduces toxic chemicals, heavy metals, microscopic pathogens, chlorine, sediment and dirt - so it's safe to use everywhere from the back country to the office. Our MiraGuard antimicrobial technology even keeps the filter clean and free of mold, so you can be sure that whether you're using tap water or river water, you're drinking the freshest water around." Pretty neat, huh?? Feel free to read more about Eco Vessel here.

What We Reviewed

So, what did our three kiddos get to review? Well, our oldest got to review the Eco Vessel Kids' 13 oz. Straw Bottle. It's a more compact size so Eco Vessel suggests this one for use in a lunch box. It is made from a "thicker stainless steel and a stronger paint than other single wall options [allowing] this bottle...[to be] stronger and made to hold up to the drops and falls that are sure to come along with your child's active lifestyle." (And yes, I can attest to this as you will read later down in the What We Thought section of this review.)

The kids with their Eco Vessels
Out of the three cups we reviewed, two had straws and it is nice to know that they are very durable. I also like that there's a little "lift" on the straw so that our children don't have to touch the straw part with their fingers.

The straws are made from a "tightly bonded, non-removable TPR (thermoplastic rubber)- an equally recyclable, Earth-conscious material that is designed to withstand strong bites and tears in many conditions." This model is recommended for ages 4 and up.
Bottle Dimensions: 6" tall, 2.75" wide at base, top is 3.5" wide
Here's what our son Carter, age 7, said about his bottle. "I like it because it has the carrying loop and I can carry it places. The water tastes fine in there and I like to drink out of it. I like the size of it and the color's really nice because I like that color. I like the lid color and the straw color. It is easy to drink out of. I really like the flip straw." :)

Our daughter used the Kids Insulated Bottle with Straw Top - 13 oz. This cup is taller than the one my son reviewed, but a lot of the features I like about his, I like about this one, including the fact that it is BPA free. This one has "vacuum Insulation technology and two walls of high grade steel" so it will do a great job keeping your child's drink cold.

When I asked Carlee, age 4 1/2, what she thought about her cup she said, "I like it. I like the colors and I like the carrying loop because I can carry my cup with me. I really, really like my cup." :)

This cup is designed for children 4 and older and includes a Lifetime Warranty.

And last, but not least, our youngest son used the 10 oz Insulated Sippy. There are some really great features about this cup. For starters, it has a handle on both sides for easy grip with little hands. Also, the mouthpiece is very durable and does not show bite marks. It also comes with a lid to keep the mouthpiece clean when transporting.

This Sippy is insulated so you can keep your child's drink cold for long periods of time.
In fact, "the Insulated Sippy is made with two layers of vacuum sealed #304 food grade stainless steel" and contains "no BPA, no phthalates." I have not tried this, BUT according to the site, it will accommodate an Avent spout.

I did not get a chance to ask Caleb what he thought about his sippy cup because he's in bed as I am finishing this review. However, if I were to, I'm sure he'd say something like, "Me like my cup." :) He somewhat resembles Cookie Monster these days with his speech. "Me like cookies!"

With all of our cups, the lids screw on securely (although you have to make sure they are lined up exactly or you will have some leaking) so we have not had an issue of them coming off accidentally, nor have I had a problem with my 2 1/2 year old unscrewing the lid when he shouldn't. In fact, he sleeps with his and we haven't had a problem with it yet. This sippy is designed for children ages 12 Months and up.

What We Thought

I kind of already told you what we thought about these cups, but here's a little more information....We have been using our Eco Vessels for about 3 months now and they still look as good as new! I love having an insulated cup for each of my children that can withstand the occasional drops and being carted back and forth between the house and the car.

The only drawback to these cups is that they need to be hand washed and I am terrible about keeping up with items that need hand washing. If I could pop these in the dishwasher like our yucky plastic cups, I would use these every single day because they are safe, durable, insulated and easy for the kids to transport thanks to the carrying loop.

Overall though, I give these a definite thumbs up! We love our Eco Vessel's! Make sure you swing by Eco Vessel to pick one out for yourself or someone else in your family!

These are by far some of our favorite water bottles around here! We have the 13 oz straw top and a hot/cold insulated one too. We also have a pop-out food storage container and I LOVE it! It pops down almost flat for storage but when popped open, it holds ALOT of food in 3 different sections!
