New Jammies Review {and Upcoming Giveaway}

New Jammies is a great source for 100% organic cotton kids pajamas for children in size preemie to size 8.

 

I have written before about the importance of choosing safe sleep options for your family and pajamas are no exception! New Jammies are designed to be snug fit so no flame retardants are needed.

 

Flame retardants in our children's pajamas are simply not healthy for them and when we have another alternative such as New Jammies, it's nice to be able to take advantage of it.

The reason brominated flame retardant chemicals are added to sleepwear is mostly due to the combustible nature of the synthetic fabrics found in the majority of children's sleepwear. If we could switch to snug, natural fabric options then we have eliminated our need for adding flame retardants to our children's pajamas.

If you have a whole supply of flame retardant pajamas (usually the fuzzy footies) for your children, I have read that there are some things you can do to help get rid of the flame retardant on the pajamas. Katie from Kitchen Stewardship has shared some suggestions here (she shares some statistics as well so you can rest easy about your child not being in flame retardant material). :)

Our son, age 7 1/2, LOVED his Fishin' Bears Snuggly PJs. This kid loves anything outdoors so I knew this pattern would be a perfect fit for him!

 

 

I got him the size 8 and they fit well, but he still has some growing room too so I was very happy with the snug, yet not-going-to-grow-out-of-these-tomorrow fit.
