A Fresh Perspective May Be Just What You Need

As I write this post, I am exhausted. I have a baby who is not feeling well and was up, oh, pretty much all night long last night. And did I mention that I was up with him almost every two hours the night before that and that the 8 months prior to that I haven't gotten much sleep either? (Wait! Who am I kidding? I haven't slept well for 9 years now!)

But you know what, I am going to {try} not to complain about it because I have sweet friends in my life that would welcome sleep deprivation if it meant they had a baby in their home.

It's all about perspective.

Sure, I'm exhausted and I'm struggling to make complete thoughts today, but wow, I am so thankful to have a chunky little baby who needs me.

And while I long for the day when my baby sleeps through the night, I'm going to embrace this moment in time and give thanks for the reason behind why I am so tired.

Perspective has been on my mind a lot lately because we are trying to sell our home and it's just not happening...yet, but I'm still hopeful?? We are in a situation where we would like to move, but just not sure if that's what God has for us. When I start to think about all of it, I try to come away feeling blessed and ready to say, "God, this is your call. If You want us to move, then it will happen. If you want us to stay in our home, then I know that is what is best for us."

Either way it's pure awesomeness because God is in control and that makes it a win-win either way.

I often remind myself that the reason our house is "getting so small" is because of the four beautiful blessings that God has placed in our home. When I choose to say thank you and see the blessings, I am reminded that there are women all over the world who would love a small house filled with precious children, rather than an empty house with plenty of space and a heart aching to fill it.

It's all about perspective.

How about you?

I don't know what situation in your life is difficult for you, but I do know that God sees you and is with you. It isn't always easy, but there is grace for each trial and blessings all around us if we pray for eyes to see them.

"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son..." Romans 8:28-29b "Nothing is impossible with God." (Luke 1:37)

Whatever situation you are in that seems unbearable or difficult or annoying, God has not left you alone. Bring your requests to Him and watch Him give you the grace for every trial.
