A Prayer for My Husband

Oops. I wrote about the wrong Proverb on the wrong day. I'm sure God knows what He's doing even if I don't. :) So, instead of Proverbs 23 today, we'll be going over Proverbs 22.

In my journal, I focused on verse 14 of this passage, and chose to write out a prayer for my husband based on the verse. I encourage you to pray however the Lord leads you, but I want to give you a suggestion in case you're new to praying and don't know where to start.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I pray that my husband would walk in your ways so that he would guard himself against the immoral woman whether she be on-line, in print or in person. Please help him not to fall into the deep pit of immorality and that his heart and mind would be restrained from following sin and instead constrained to following Christ. I pray that whatever he does will be because Christ's love controls him. (Proverbs 22:14 and 2 Corinthians 5:14)

In Jesus' Name,

Amen

Praying Scripture is one of the most powerful and effective means of praying because it's praying back God's words on the matter.

It is such a helpful format because as I am reading Scripture, I can simply pray those words back to God on behalf of my children or husband or whomever else the Lord lays on my heart.

If you are interested in other passages to pray that pertain to your husband and children, here is a list I compiled back when I was a newbie blogger. :) Or, you can even use your laundry to help you pray for your family.

I hope that you are seeing God do a work in your marriage as a result of this study. Our family will continue to pray for you.

Join me tomorrow as we study Proverbs chapter 24. Just getting started on the series? Catch up with all the posts on my landing page between now and October 31.
