Super Skivvies Review and Giveaway!

As part of the Green Resolutions Blog Hop I'm thrilled to introduce Steph from Super Skivvies to you. I have had the privilege of featuring Steph before, so you may or may not know that I'm a big fan of Super Skivvies!

What Are Super Skivvies?

Super Skivvies are convertible training pants for your potty training little one. They are very well made, cute and ingenious (because you simply remove the insert once your child is potty trained and then you have a regular pair of undies!) To say the least, I've been very pleased with the quality of these trainers!

How Will Super Skivvies Save Me Money?

The cost savings on using trainers like these instead of something like pull-ups is substantial. Steph even gives you a break down here. And honestly, I can't even use pull-ups with my youngest because he is allergic to disposable diapers and pull-ups.

It's nice to have an option that's easy on the pocketbook and provides comfortable coverage for my son.

How Are Super Skivvies Better than the Typical Store Brand Trainer?

Super Skivvies are much more fitted and secure. I've noticed that when using some of the  store brands, especially on my younger potty trainers that there is a gap "down there" and the child is not completely covered. This is a problem because it's not going to hold an accident in as well, nor does it give the child the proper coverage they deserve.

Besides that, store brands are made of 100% cotton which is not nearly as absorbent as Bamboo is. (More on that later!)

And I've bet you've never seen a trainer in a boxer brief style. I know I haven't, but it won't be long and Steph will be offering these as well!  

Another thoughtful feature about Super Skivvies is that the tag is sewn on the outside so as to not cause irritation to your child. This impressed me because it means Steph has put a lot of thought into her product.

One more thing that puts these a step above the store brand is that they come in smaller sizes than you can find at the store. I started potty training my younger two at a much younger age than my oldest (12 months) so I needed something that was smaller. Super Skivvies comes in sizes 1-2T on up to 4-5T so all your size needs are met!

What Are Super Skivvies Made From?

Super Skivvies feature one layer of soft 100% cotton interlock in the body, a rayon (from bamboo)/organic cotton velour liner in the crotch area, 100% cotton interlock waist and thigh bands, and no-roll elastic encased in the waist." (The extra wide waist band makes it easier for my son to pull his own trainers up and down when going to the bathroom.)

As mentioned, included with your Super Skivvies "is a removable insert consisting of three layers: rayon (from bamboo) and organic cotton fleece. Just tuck the insert into the crotch lining and your undies are trainers! Super Skivvies are not an alternative to diapers. Including the insert, there are five layers of protection. Enough to contain a single accident.

Did you know that Bamboo is 300% MORE ABSORBENT than cotton? That means less bulkiness, yet with extra absorbency. With that being the case, it will help your child transition into the feeling of wearing real underwear rather than a diaper.

-It is 300% more absorbent than cotton (bamboo becomes more absorbent with each washing!)
